THE MISFIT SUNFLOWER

"God LOVES ALL the flowers...Even the wild ones" - Colleen Meadows

Colleen Meadows, age 58, Galveston, Texas passed away after a well lived life. She lived every day of her life without regrets and is dancing in Heaven. Colleen was the general manager of the 61ST Fishing Pier. She loved working on the water and meeting new friends daily. Colleen was a strong single mother to Renee, Kari, Jacob, and Lola (her cat) and leaves behind too many friends and family members to name.

Colleen often referred to herself, friends and family as "misfit toys" we lovingly refer to her as a misfit sunflower. She dared to dream and grew wherever she was planted.  Sunflowers held a huge significance to Colleen since one of her fondest memories was growing a gigantic one with her Father. Colleen was originally from Collinsville, IL but lived all across the country exploring the beauty of nature.

We will be celebrating Colleen's life in Galveston, TX in October 2022. We are organizing a beach cleanup along with a a party in her honor. Please feel free to leave a note below with a funny/crazy/happy story about Colleen.  Dare to be a misfit sunflower and smile fondly at the lasting impact she left on all everyone she met.

More details for Colleen's Celebration of Life will be provided once finalized.
